The Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations

The CCVO's vision is Calgary's voluntary sector working together with business and government to build a strong, vibrant community. The Chamber comprises a network of voluntary/nonprofit organizations, networks, alliances and individuals who define their mission as strengthening Calgary's voluntary sector and providing leadership on policy matters affecting the sector as a whole.

CCVO works in the following key areas:

  • Sector Engagement:
Provides opportunities for members to learn about key issues affecting the sector
  • Research:
Conducts and disseminates research on key issues
  • Policy Development:
Provides leadership regarding emerging policy issues and builds the sectors capacity to develop and respond to policy challenges
  • Awareness of the sector:
Champions the role of the voluntary/non profit sector with government, the private sector and the public.
  • Community resources:
Acts as a clearing house of information for and about the sector

The CCVO takes a collaborative approach to its work and works closely with Volunteer Calgary and Centrepoint. Faithful City's Bob Pynn is Vice Chair of CCVO.
